Services

My practice offers individual and family therapies to treat problems with anxiety, grief and loss, depression, and adjustment to stressful life changes. I operate from a cognitive behavioral perspective. This means that we will work together to identify the faulty cognitions or beliefs that lead to the specific problem behaviors that bring a client to therapy. This approach has the strongest research support in successful treating problems such as anxiety and depression.

In working with young children, I will typically schedule an initial intake appointment without the child, in order to gather a detailed history from parents. In subsequent meetings, I usually meet with parents for a few minutes at the end of each session.

I specialize in the assessment of learning disorders, including Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Specific Learning Disabilities. These evaluations begin with gathering detailed information about the presenting problem from multiple sources (i.e., the client, caregivers, and medical and school personnel) through interviews and/or behavioral or developmental checklists. Formal test administration will follow in 50 to 75 minute sessions, with a final feedback session in which I will deliver results and interpretation to the individual or family members.

Please call to discuss fees for therapy and assessment services. Therapy appointments are generally scheduled for 50 minutes duration, and the practice accepts payment by credit card, check or cash. Clients will be responsible for payment at the time of service.
